Bio
Brent Thompson is an Army Judge Advocate, currently serving as the Battalion Judge Advocate for 2d Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida (Jan 13-Present). Other legal assignments include:

Captain Thompson began his military career as an enlisted infantryman in the 1st Battalion, 23d Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade, 2d Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Washington where he was the Regimental “Soldier of the Year” in 2000 and earned a full ride “Green to Gold” college ROTC scholarship, awarded to top enlisted soldiers with officer potential.
After receiving his commission as an armor officer, Captain Thompson was the class leader and Distinguished Honor Graduate from both the Armor Officers Basic Course and Scout Leaders Course. He served as an anti-tank platoon leader, infantry rifle platoon leader, and scout platoon leader with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Irwin, California. In 2007, he was one of only 18 officers Army-wide to receive selection into the Funded Legal Education Program, which provides a full ride scholarship to the law school of choice.
Captain Thompson earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Order of Barristers, from Indiana University—Bloomington Maurer School of Law in 2010. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration from the School of Government at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Justice Studies from Montana State University—Bozeman with Highest Honors in 2004.
